Size

The usual range is small, medium and large, but some retailers now offer an extra small and extra large size. Whatever type of chicken you have, there will be a suitable nappy. Generally the smaller nappies are for Bantams, while the larger ones are suitable for poultry such as Buckeyes.

Material

Generally chicken nappies are made out of machine washable material, but it is important to check before purchasing.

Fitting

A bird needs a tail knob and stiff tail feathers to wear a nappy. Stiff tail feathers normally develop 4 weeks from birth, therefore it is not always possible to fit juvenile chickens with nappies.
