Dobbies Garden Centre Milngavie

by Ian Daniels on November 1, 2010

What’s going on at Dobbies Garden Centre Milngavie?

This Christmas Dobbies Garden Centres are helping raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation – a national charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill children across the UK.

Dobbies Milngavie are helping to make Rohan’s wish come true!

Rohan, aged 9, has been leukaemia for the last three years. Rohan’s mother explains the impact the treatment had on Rohan, ‘Rohan has been so brave and never ever complains. He was very upset when he lost all his hair… he has always had the most beautiful coloured red hair’.

Rohan’s wish is to go to the Top Gear track and drive a Bugatti Veyron. Rohan told Starlight, “I love Top Gear and the Top Gear playing cards and magazines.”

I visit Dobbies with my two young neices – they love it! I am a director of Blairmore Village Trust in Dunoon and each year we host a Santa’s visit over a 3 day period. It is a 2 hour magical experience for over 300 children. They travel in on a “jingle bus”, make crafts in the factory and spend a special 15 minutes with Santa and Mrs Claus in small groups. We are told we are better than Lapland! As well as a present from Santa the children receive a goody bag and I am writing to ask if Dobbies would be willing to supply us with 300 of the lunch bags you have for children. The Co-op Society kindly fill the bags for us. If you would like any further information please get in touch. Thank you for your consideration. Pat Lynn, Director Blairmore Village Trust (SC326190)
