What’s going on at Dobbies Garden Centre Perth?

This Christmas Dobbies Garden Centres are helping raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation – a national charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill children across the UK.

Dobbies Perth are helping to make Leia’s wish come true!

Eleven year old Leia has Cystic Fibrosis ‐ a life shortening condition that affects all the organs of the body, especially the lungs.

Leia’s mum says, ‘Leia is a bubbly, outgoing and caring girl who likes to be around people. She asserts herself in any given situation and is a brilliant big sister who loves her little sisters dearly.’

Her wish is to visit the set of Eastenders and meet the character Jean. Leia has chosen the Eastenders wish because she does he daily physio in front of the TV whilst Eastenders is on and is a huge fan, especially of the character Jean!

Children between the ages of 4 and 10 are all welcome to come down and take part in the hands-on workshops, which help them learn more about plants, wildlife and the environment.

The club is completely free to join and is the perfect way for kids to learn about all things green and have a great time in the process.

If you’re thinking of bringing your child along to Little Seedlings, please contact Dobbies Garden Centre Perth in advance, as dates are subject to change. Please also note, that all children must be accompanied by an adult.

My husband and I recently visited the Perth Dobbies on a lunch stop with a coach trip and we were very unimpressed with what we found. The cafe was chaotic, with an overly convoluted system of cards with numbers allocated to orders and slips of paper to be handed over at the checkout which caused confusion with the lady on the till as to whether you had your order on your tray [our food was handed to us as we stood waiting for tea] or whether the slip of paper was for another item to follow. some items were in other areas which meant leaving the queue then having to rejoin only to find the till wasn’t at the end of the queue but at another separate island unit. The food is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. £1.85 for a pot of tea, £4.20 for a mediocre egg mayonnaise sandwich with a paltry salad and about half a dozen crisps. The shop itself is a joke too, over £4 for a single length of tinsel. I don’t know who chooses to shop here but the old saying springs to mind that a fool and his money are soon parted. To quote my husband “Dobbies are just greedy rip-off merchants”. A low point on what was otherwise a good holiday.
