Dobbies Garden Centre Southport

What’s happening at Dobbies Garden Centre Southport?

This Christmas Dobbies Garden Centres are helping raise money for Starlight Children’s Foundation – a national charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill children across the UK.

Dobbies Southport are helping to make Sophia’s wish come true!

Sophia, aged 5, was born four months premature and spent a long time on life support. During this time, Sophia developed chronic lung disease and became oxygen dependent. Her wish is go to Sesame Street in New York and meet the characters.

Sophia’s dad says, ‘Sophia has always loved the Sesame Street show and loves all the different characters which have been guaranteed to make her laugh even when she’s been very poorly. Sophia may be the smallest member of our family but she really does have the biggest personality and kindest heart! It would be truly amazing to see her wish come true!’

Dobbies Allotments

Dobbies Garden Centre in Southport could become the first garden centre in the UK to allow customers to grow their own vegetables on-site.

The UK has seen a massive surge in the number of people growing their own crops and now Dobbies Southport want to give their customers the opportunity to have their very own allotment, right next door to their favourite garden centre.

An application for planning permission has been submitted and if this is successful, 30 allotments will be rented out from next spring.

Many seem to have embraced self-sufficiency as a means of saving money in difficult economic times and waiting lists for allotments have grown significantly, suggesting this could be a popular addition to Dobbies Garden World Southport.
