Then why not learn a BBQ trick or two at Grillstock – “the UK’s first full-blown US style barbecue competition and food show”.
Grillstock is taking place on the 17th & 18th July at the Lloyds Amphitheatre in Bristol, where you can “witness first-hand the skills of the very best BBQ Pitmasters and Grill-Chefs the UK has to offer.”
Over the weekend hundreds of people will gather together to celebrate the art of barbecuing. The festival boasts more than 130 stands offering the very best in local barbecue food, drink and BBQ equipment.
The centrepiece of the event will see the best BBQ chefs competing for the prestigious “King of the Grill” Trophy. This is a 2-day US style BBQ competition with up to 16 teams. Best Chicken, Best Ribs, Best Pork Shoulder, Best BBQ Sauce and Best ‘Mystery Box’ Dish are all contested in the hunt for the best barbecue team around.
Festival goers are well advised to linger in the ‘tasting tent’ where the teams cooking samples will be served up for visitors to vote for their favourites. In addition to tasting great barbecue food, visitors will get the chance to learn new cookery skills and experience the excitement of a US style BBQ.
You’ll also have the chance to learn the true art of barbecuing from BBQ legends at the Grillstock BBQ Academy and live cookery demos.
Live music will be on throughout the two days including local legends Wes Finch & The Dirty Band.
Top barbecue brands will be at the event such as quality Weber barbecues and Fallen Angels microbrewery; makers of chilli beer!
So get your tongs ready, and your marinades mixed as it’s sure to be a hot BBQ festival in Bristol.
