More heavy metal furniture means less rock and roll
What better than some heavy metal garden furniture?
Although it sounds like something that Lemmy from Motorhead might recline in at a pool party, what I’m really referring to is heavy duty cast furniture. The type of stuff that can stay outside all year and won’t blow away in anything other than hurricane or tornado conditions.
Rather than suggesting the aesthetics of blood, sweat and tears, this type of heavy metal is intricately designed and exudes a more traditional and classical appeal – a heaviness more like Beethoven than Black Sabbath.
In this kind of furniture, cast aluminium is often used, which reduces issues of rust and permits more intricate designs such as those inspired by the 19th Century garden designer, Gertrude Jekyll. These classical looks epitomise the Arts and Crafts movement of that period and are still very popular today.

Metal garden furniture will stand the test of time and endure the elements all year round. If painted, be careful to spot any signs of flaking or scratching. If this happens, simply sand the effected area and touch-up with a small brush and metal paint.
