Here’s another great selection of some of our favourite gardening blogs on the web.
The Patient Gardener’s Weblog
The Patient Gardener is based in Worcestershire and admits to being addicted to growing things from seeds. The only problem is she then has to find places for the resultant plants. She describes her gardening style as ‘Cottage Garden’, which is evident from the numerous pictures on her blog. Aside from acting as a diary for what’s going on in her own garden, the Patient Gardener also takes her ‘Point and Click’ camera out and about to other beautiful outdoor settings.

Down on the Allotment
Down on the Allotment follows the fortunes of one female gardener from Hillingdon, who has been growing her own vegetables her entire life. “I was born 20 yards from our allotment. My parents used to ‘dig for victory’ and never got out of the habit. I grew up on an allotment, so growing veggies is a way of life.” The blog has some top tips, stunning pictures and is a must-visit for anyone thinking about growing their own produce.

Thinking Blossoms
Judy Barber takes her camera for walks and when she does she tends to return with stunning photography of plants, flowers and all kinds of other wildlife. The post she added on spending a day in New York alone makes this blog worth visiting as some of the images from Central Park are amazing.
Earthwoman
In 2007, Earthwoman acquired herself a small but hideously overgrown allotment plot in West London. This blog describes the highs and lows as she single-handedly whips it into shape and brings home mountains of delicious produce. From dealing with the issue of blackflies to sightings of Stag Beatles, there’s always something going on in Earthwoman’s allotment.

Going to the Dogs
Although the name of the site is a tribute to a former greyhound racing track, Going to the Dogs is very much a blog about gardening. The author, Martyn Cox, who also writes for a national newspaper, mainly blogs about what’s going on in his small but plant-packed East London garden. You can also find interviews with other keen gardeners and the odd picture or two. Definitely worth a read.

Greenforks
Greenforks is a blog about both a garden and an allotment in the South East of England. Although the author is keen on talking about the flowers in her garden (and posting some beautiful photography), there are also regular updates on how the vegetables are coming along in the allotment. This is one of the best presented gardening blogs I’ve seen, which means it’s always a pleasure to read and very easy on the eye.

Flighty’s Plot
Flighty’s Plot (or Plot 124 as it’s also referred to) is an allotment measuring about 28 by 56 feet. Entries into Flighty’s blog chart his progress as he attempts to tame this small half plot and grow lots of flowers, the odd shrub or two and even some raspberries.
Manor Stables Veg Plot
The Manor Stables Veg Plot is located in Castleford, West Yorkshire and follows the fortunes of one lady gardener as she attempts to make the most of the large plot she has at her disposal. It’s a big project and there’s always lots going on, which makes it a great read. The amazing pictures are just an added bonus.

Plot 35
The author of Plot 35 goes by the alias of FlowerPowerGirl and describes herself simply as someone who loves to grow and eat fresh fruit and vegetables. What makes this blog and this writer, that little bit more interesting is that she’s new to the world of gardening and allotments, making her successes (and mistakes) all the more exciting. Anyone who is just starting to get into gardening will really appreciate the musings from Plot 35.
Marigold Memoirs
Marigold describes herself as an amateur Horticulturist but her blog suggests she’s far from being a novice. She writes about all kinds of plants, vegetables, herbs and anything else you can possibly grow in an allotment. Every post is accompanied by stunning photography, which makes this blog the complete package.
Vegmonkey and the Mrs.
Vegmonkey and the Mrs. follows the fortunes of a garden-loving couple from Cheltenham as they attempt to grow a variety of vegetables in a small back garden and a 100 square metre allotment. The flamboyant nature of this blog stretches far beyond it’s name, so if you’re looking for an interesting, insightful and always entertaining read, then make sure you pay them a visit.

Many thanks for the mention!
I enjoy reading good gardening blogs so I’ll be looking at the others that you list with great interest.
Happy gardening!
Thank you for introducing me to even more gardening blogs. There is such a large variety of blogs now. It’s great that you’ve put together a good listing along with descriptions.
I am a keen amateur gardener and a budding artist. Until seeing your beautiful picture of a sunflower I have never before been tempted to grow them. Now I can’t wait to have some in my garden and to paint them as well. Many thanks
