Santa visits Starlight children at Dobbies

Everybody knows what a wonderful time of year Christmas can be, but there are some people who appreciate the magic of Christmas more than most – mainly children and Santa.

Here at Dobbies we like to conjure up some Christmas magic of our own, that’s why we put up the largest Christmas tree in the UK at our garden centre in Edinburgh.

We are also using the tree as part of our campaign to raise £10,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and Santa has agreed to help us out.

Santa recently visited Belfast in Northern Ireland to spread some Christmas cheer. Whilst there he met Eoin and took him for a ride in his sleigh. Eoin is 5 years old and has nephrotic syndrome, a kidney disorder that leaves him with low protein levels in his blood.

Starlight Children’s Foundation

The Starlight Children’s Foundation grants wishes to children like Eoin who are seriously ill. You can help them by adding your own wish to a bauble that you can buy and hang on our Christmas wish tree.

As well as the UK’s biggest wish tree in Edinburgh, we have wish trees at Dobbies garden centres all over the country. You can also donate online at Dobbies Big Tree. All the money raised will go straight to Starlight and help give kids like Eoin something fun and exciting to look forward to.

Eoin’s Starlight wish is to go to Disneyland Paris and meet the racecar, Lightning McQueen. With your help this Christmas, Starlight can make that wish come true.

So place a Christmas wish bauble on our tree and help the Starlight Children’s Foundation make it a magical time of year for Christmas’ biggest fans.
