The first ever Weber barbecue
Weber was created in 1952 by metal worker, George Stephen, who worked for Weber Bros factory in Chicago. He designed and built the first ever kettle barbecue by simply cutting a buoy in half. He used one half as the barbecue pit and one half as the lid, added four legs underneath, and had created a design that has remained a key part of Weber’s charcoal range.
Almost 60 years on and the Weber brand remains synonymous with barbecuing.
